Job Description
In a senior care environment, a Director of Social Services directs, establishes, and plans the goals for the social services department. This role is responsible for patient assessments, care planning and helping residents and families adjust to the community. Additionally, this role provides strategic decisions and assists in the development of policies and planning for community health and social services programs.
Education Requirements
Most employers require a bachelor’s degree in social work and current licensure through the Minnesota Board of Social Work. Some employers may prefer a masters degree in social work.
