Overview
Job Description
After a physical therapist has evaluated a patient, the physical therapist assistant, or PTA, will build a treatment program that aligns with the goals that the physical therapist has established. PTAs may help prepare patients for treatment, update and prepare records, or treat patients through exercise, massage, and other methods. An ideal candidate for this role would be highly-organized, compassionate, and capable of executing the important responsibilities delegated by the physical therapist.
Education Requirements
Most employers require current Physical Therapy Assistant licensure through the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy.
