Overview

Job Description

Guest services professionals set the tone for the entire community — often before anyone else has said a word. As the first point of contact for visitors, residents’ families, new staff, and vendors, you shape the first impression of the community every single day.

Responsibilities include greeting and checking in visitors, answering and directing phone calls, responding to questions from residents and families, supporting administrative tasks for leadership, and maintaining a calm, welcoming front-desk environment.

This role is well-suited for someone who is warm, organized, and genuinely enjoys working with people. Strong communication skills and a calm presence under pressure go a long way.

Education Requirements

No formal education or certification is required. Strong communication skills, a warm and professional manner, and comfort managing multiple tasks at once are what matter most. Prior experience in reception, hospitality, retail, or customer service transfers well.

A Day In This Role

A day begins with opening the front desk, reviewing any notes from the previous shift, and preparing for the morning. From there, it’s a mix: welcoming families coming to visit, directing a vendor to the right department, answering resident questions, managing incoming calls, and supporting the team as the day unfolds. No two mornings look exactly the same, and the work is consistently social.

Advancement Opportunities: Where this role can take you

Cross-Pathway Note: Guest services professionals who develop an interest in the operational side of the community often move into admissions, HR, or administrative roles. The people skills built in this role translate into almost any pathway.
